Xmas Fun had by All!

What a truly lovely and somewhat overindulgent xmas time we had. My fabulous friends EQ & beakdip graced us with their holiday presence, spending the eve night, so that we could all awake and open gifts together, making this otherwise blink of a holiday seem at least long enough to feel like a treat! We awoke at some godforsaken hour to the scrumptious smell of my BSB making bacon and coffee. Have I ever told you how lucky I am!!!!
Soon all was awake and ready for gifts with fresh brewed java in hand. Before long paper and ribbon were flying in the air as we all tore into our loot with glee. It was such a blur of wrappers that I had to look at everything a few hours later just to remember what great gifts I had received. We all scored hard core! My BSB is the best and always gets me such thoughtful gifts, this year being no exception.
Then we were treated to a wonderful breakfast by BSB, followed by some of the seasons best holiday classics. A few hours later we were lucky enough to be joined by some of our fellow friends for more movies and a fucking fantastic Honeybaked Ham dinner. I can tell you that it doesn’t get much better than that, my friends!
I, having had such a lovely day of sloth and debauchery, ended up needing to take a nap in the middle of one of the movies awaking just in time to say adieu to my guests.
I unfortunately had to work the next morning at 8:30 am so I cleaned up the kitchen and then went back to bed…as visions of sugarplums danced in my head…

Christmas Eve

There are about 10 people in my office right now and only a little over an hour to go.
Then I will be on my way home to be with the people I love, eating the food and drinking the drinks I love & watching the TV I love.
Then all will be right with the World!

Thank you Baby Jesus!

Monday

So I’m sitting here trying to look like I’m working but all I really want to do is start celebrating the holidays!
I can’t wait to have my fabulous friends over to open gifts, eat too much Honey Baked Ham and drink eggnog (spiked of course!).

What's been going on

So much has happened in the land of Hapless since I last posted that it’s hard to know where to begin…

When last we met I was busy thinking about all the great food and fun I was going to be having with my family at my aunt and uncles house for Thanksgiving, when low and behold the Universe found in its infinite wisdom to make me think about life and death instead. I was at work living in my head, when I got an email that a very dear friend was sick and in the ICU ward with the possibility of having brain surgery within the next couple of days. Needless to say I instantly thought of myself and how it would affect me if she left my life and I was devastated with grief. It’s funny how things can change in the blink of an eye and reality can smack the shit out of you. With the grace of the Universe, after days and many more tests, she ended up not needing surgery and her body healed herself.
I give more thanks than you ever can conceive!

My BSB and I then drove to be with my family and I had a good if not a little uncomfortable time. It meant a lot to me to see everyone, especially my grandfather who I ended up not getting to spend as much time with as I would have liked but, just to see him sit there in his cute little navy blue sweeter with this big grin on his face made my heart sing. I truly love my family with all its craziness and heart.
We cut our visit short and headed back to the bay.

I had only a week to go before heading to Texas to see my immediate crazy family mom, dad, sister and brother and I was definitely not looking forward to the flight. I really hate to fly and it seems the older I get the more fucking freaked out I become. You wouldn’t know it to sit by me, not until I die of a heart attack from the internalization of dread and fear; I’m really good at stuffing down my anxiety around strangers. I was blessed with an uneventful flight and landed safely in my hometown. How I miss that city, everything about it is different then SF, don’t get me wrong I Love SF I really can’t imagine living anywhere else, but still there’s something for me about going to the town of my childhood. All the Oak and Pecan trees lining the hills and the giant Christmas tree made of lights that you can see all over the city, walking Town Lake hike and bike trail to see my dad , eating great Mexican food and great live music. It was a good time for me, very emotional but necessary. I still have a whole lot of work to do there but it was a start. It made me really miss being around my sister and close friends.
It was harder for me on the flight back, we had a fuck load of turbulence on the way into Oakland but after a ton of praying from me and the guy next to me we landed safely.

So now I have a few days before a fabulously planned couple of Xmas days and I’m truly looking forward to it. I feel extremely thankful for all the Amazingly Wonderful Friends and Family members I have in my life. You have all helped me in more ways then I can truly express.
Happy Holidays!
